In India, one story can appear on English, Hindi, and regional sites, and then travel on WhatsApp. Many digital news sites now have a grievance officer for complaints, and newspapers and TV channels have their own complaint bodies. We use these routes to get false or outdated stories fixed.
We only ask for changes to stories that are false, outdated, or share private details. We never pay editors to pull a story, never threaten journalists, and never try to hide fair reporting.

Fair reporting is protected in India, and a story on a matter of public interest will often stay. Copies on many sites each need their own request, and forwarded WhatsApp messages can't be recalled. In those cases, we push the story down instead.
We have no special deal with any news site. Each one has its own complaints route, and we follow it. We also help with Indian Express, Dainik Jagran, Amar Ujala, News18, and many others.
